RCBC sent me a Credit Card and I don’t know if I really need a second one. I seldom use my BDO Credit Card because I am afraid I can’t pay for my purchases. But I am aware that there are pros and cons in having and using Credit Cards.
Here are some tips I could give you if you have a Credit Card:
- Do not use your Credit Card just because you want to go on a shopping spree. Remember that you have to pay for what you have swiped and if you will not pay on time or on the due date, the interest is so big.
- Use your Credit Card for paying your bills only. As for me, I use my Credit Card to pay for my phone bills only.
- If you have the tendency to just swipe your Credit Card every time you visit the Mall, then leave it at home.
- Be aware of your cut-off date and due date. The day after your cut-off date is a good day to use your Credit Card to pay for your bills because you have a longer period of time to save money to pay for the amount you just have swiped.
- Always pay-off the outstanding balance in your Credit Card bill, do not let the interest earn interest.
- If you can’t control yourself, do not get a Credit Card at all.
I agree with your tips. I use naman my credit card for zero percent installments.
credit cards + i will not be meeting in the next 25 years! i am really done with them + will opt to just pay for my purchases in cash other than be deceived into thinking i have a wad of cash stashed somewhere that i can use to buy whatever i like.
keeping a credit card would really entail discipline + a lot of self-control so one won’t end up knee-deep in debt.

I never attempted getting a credit card because I believe that “if you can’y buy it in cash, don’t buy it”. However, there are some things that my husband & I wold like to buy and CCs are needed. I might get one in the future. When I’m earning as well.

Having a credit card has advantages and disadvantages. That plastic card can give you happiness and problem at the same time. This is the reason why I don’t have one. My husband prohibits (as in prohibits) me in getting my own credit card. I only have debit card. =)
Which one has the lower finance charge? You can transfer your credit balance to the new card with a lower finance charge. I’m not a fan of BDO but I haven’t tried RCBC.
Credit card is good but we should be responsible in using it.
I do not own credit card only debit card since I am scared of getting one. Hubby got CC and till now still paying the debt wahhhh…

I have many credit cards 🙂 I have Victoria’s Secret, Wal-Mart, Khols and Target. The Target has zero balance except my VS and I just used my Wal-mart the other day. My husband usually pays my credit card 🙂
I used to have several CC but i decided to paid them off and have only 2 CC now. Yea having cc is very tempting, am afraid i spend them all! But i have self control and just use cash for shopping.
I’m an impulsive shopper so credit cards is not for me.
