A Last Minute Travel Checklist

You’ve bought your ticket, booked your hotel, planned your hikes and your shopping trips, you are so ready for this vacation. Aren’t you? Before you do, just double and triple check a few small things. After all, it only takes few small things going wrong to absolutely ruin your trip.

Transportation

Whether you need transportation from Hobby Airport to Galveston or from Heathrow to the heart of London, your traveling won’t be over once you land at your final destination. Investigate car rentals, shuttles, the availability of ride shares or public transportation to make absolutely sure that you’ll be able to get where you need to go, once you’ve gotten where you want to go. The last thing you want is to end up stranded at the airport.

Currency

There’s a chance that you’ll need to get some of the local currency, and there will be lots of people ready to prey on your lack of preparation. Check rates for currency exchange before you travel to make sure that you get the best deal. Even if you don’t need to get foreign currency, you should make sure to let your bank know that you’re traveling, as there’s a chance they’ll flag up your transactions as suspicious. The last thing you want is to be stuck with a frozen card when you’re far away from home.

Emergency

Last but not least, make sure that you have contingencies for emergencies. Check your insurance policies, or consider purchasing a travel insurance policy. Know who to call if you get in trouble while you’re away from home. On the other end, make sure that someone back home is keeping an eye on your place (and possibly your pets!) while you’re away. The most important part of you wonderful vacation is coming home safe, happy, and rested.
