World Teacher’s Day Celebration 2017

How do you celebrate the World Teacher’s Day? I am not a teacher though I when I was younger it was my dream. I know that is was my ambition because I have seen my yearbook during my Preschool Graduation and it was written there. Now I realized that it wasn’t my calling because today I am not a teacher by profession.

I am very active in my children’s school activities because I am the GPTA Treasurer (again) and the SGC Chairperson for this school year. Every year we always celebrate World Teacher’s Day with a theme for our teachers to wear something different from what they usually wear during school days. We used to have a Floral/Hawaiian Theme, we also had Retro/70s Theme and last year we had an all White Theme. And we do not allow the teachers to know what we have prepared for them. The GPTA and SGC officers works hand in hand to provide a surprise celebration for the teachers every year.

This year we asked our teachers to come in their Disney Inspired Costume or Attire. We had a program for the morning, a sumptuous lunch then parlor games for the whole afternoon. Our teachers are so happy during our celebration and we are so glad that they were. We appreciate the hard work that they do every day to educate our children and the children of the next generation.

Before I forget this year’s theme is “Gurong Pilipino; Kaakbay sa Progreso”.

Happy Mother’s Day Mama Charito

Yesterday, we celebrated Mother’s Day at Steves Grill, Valencia City. There are 365 days in a year and we only thank our Moms for their hardwork in raising us and in taking care of us for one day. When we were young, we don’t celebrate Mother’s Day, I do not know why, maybe because we cannot afford it yet and we (Mama Charito’s Kids) do not have an income yet. But now that we have our own salary and income we always make our Mother feel that she is special to us. We are so lucky to have her as our Mom and her grandchildren are much luckier because they have her.

She is the best mother in the whole world for us because she endured everything just to make us feel loved and to let us have the life we deserve. And on yesterday, we made her feel that she is lucky to have us.

Here are some photos during yesterday’s Mother’s Day Celebration (1. My daughter holding a bouquet of flowers for her grandma and 2. My son holding a cake for his grandma).

Two weeks ago, I was searching online for the perfect gift for my Mom, I was checking out different online stores and shops because it is way much easier and I have lots of choices than visiting different malls. Most online stores and shops has an on-going Mother’s Day SALE so I was enticed to check them all out. I saw these gorgeous skirts and I know my Mom would love to have them on her closet and probably wear it anytime she wants.
unnamedHAPPY MOTHER’s Day Mama!!! Thank you for everything, I know these things cannot re-pay the amount of time, effort and love you have given us, but I hope somehow these things make you feel a little bit special.

Top Gear PH

Tried my luck in sending this photo to Top Gear PH Facebook page last year and I am glad that it is one worthy photo to be posted on their page.

This is not mine, this is my Father’s monster car (which I fondly call it). The sticker Maldito is a sticker given by my brother’s friend and we have a lot of it posted in our cars. All of my brother’s friends had it at the back of their pick-up trucks.

If you will find this photo in Top Gear PH’s Facebook Page you’d probably say that I am one tough lady because I managed to not cry over some hurtful comments posted by other netizens on the photo. Some even thought that I am a transgender. Oh well, you can’t please everybody and just because I have long legs and muscled arms (as what other netizens have noticed) made them think that I am a man. But then again, Thank You TOP GEAR PH for making me famous! just for one day! hahaha

We had a Pose for a Cause event last December 2013 and so I let my kids join the event. It is so hard to ask the children to pose for the camera.

Top Tips for a Successful Kid’s Sleepover

Kids love a sleepover and, as soon as they start infant school and meet new people, they’ll be begging to have a couple of them over to stay at some point. While a sleepover will inevitably mean late nights and loads of laughter for the youngsters, it can also mean exhausted parents ready to pull their hair out because of broken sleep, but with the right planning and a little forethought, you can make sure that it will pass by without a hitch.

If it’s your child’s first ever sleepover, make a big deal out of it for them! Take photos for them to remember it by and treat them to some new pyjamas from George’s character shop range to make it feel really special.

Organise it so that the kids spend the night in the living room together. Ask their parents to drop them off with their own sleeping bag so that it can feel like a proper sleepover. If they have a sibling that doesn’t want to be involved in the party, plan something else for them so that they don’t feel left out and neglected. Perhaps offer for them to invite a friend over, or see if they would like to go to a friend’s house for the night.

Set some rules – don’t let the kids walk all over you! Whether they quieten down or not, make sure there’s a definite lights-out time and, if movies and kids’ TV is OK, give them a curfew and stick to it. Give them plenty of ideas which will keep all the children happy – video games should be avoided because they can isolate those who aren’t playing at the time. Provide board games or outdoor play options instead.

Make sure that all the little guests know where the bathroom is. While they don’t necessarily need a tour of the house, knowing the location of the loo if they’re in need of a midnight visit is essential – especially if you don’t want to be disturbed during the little sleep you’ll likely get!

Prepare a selection of yummy treats in advance so that the youngsters will have plenty to go at. From pizza to cookies, make sure there’s something for everyone. If the sleepover is starting early and you’re OK with the inevitable mess, get them all involved in some home baking!

Chat to the parents beforehand so that you know of any issues they may have. Make sure you have contact details, just in case, and make a note of any allergies that the child might have. Set a pick up time too.

As long as you put ground rules in place and your children and their guests know what their boundaries are, sleepovers should pass by without any issues at all.

From new jim-jams from the supermarket character shop to a movie night watching their favourite films, the key to a successful sleepover is to ensure that your home is fun central for the duration – worry about the mess later!
