Three Reasons Why Your Skin Is Dry

Despite what many people think, dry skin can happen to anyone at anytime. Oftentimes, people don't realize that overly dry skin can appear oily, so they try to solve the problem with cleansers or moisturizers that don't actually work for them. Knowing what causes this condition and the best ways to prevent it can be beneficial. Here are a few reasons why your skin might struggling.

Weather

Even people with the healthiest skin struggle during cold weather months. The dry air does a number on people’s skin, and regular lotion just doesn’t seem to do the trick. Moisturizing soap and aquifer skin cream may be the best option for some people. Being out in the sun too much can also cause dry skin, so it is important to always wear sunscreen even on cloudy days.

Makeup

Products are made for different types of skin, and if you don’t pay attention, the makeup you use could be drying you out. Checking the ingredients in the products you use is always important. Oftentimes, it will say on the front what type of skin the item is best for. Try browsing through your local beauty store to see if you can find a makeup that can help moisturize as well.

Genetics

There is not much you can do about this one except to take extra care of your skin. If you think you have an actual condition, try making an appointment with a dermatologist to get further advice as some problems cannot be resolved with over-the-counter products and may require a prescription. Using a good moisturizer may be efficient too.

If you are unsure on what products will work best for you, you may want to consult a professional. Most beauty stores have someone who can help you, and you might even be able to try different samples.
